THE BRIEF

To promote BFI visitors to enter an online competition and promote the BFI Flare Film Festival.

THE CAMPAIGN

Armed with iPads and smiles, two friendly, film-buff Promos were sent down to the BFI to help them increase the number of people who were entering their online competition to win a Flare film season goody bag.

A common problem with asking people to sign up for any sort of competition is an initial reluctance to give away any information. Similarly, it is common for people to respond “I never win anyway”. Therefore, our Promos were on full charm offensive, making the audience feel at ease and assuring them the details would simply be used for the competition.

The conversion rate was very high with 40% of people approached signing up on the spot and many more taking a flyer. A lot of people commented that they were convinced to enter the competition as they were fond of our polite and personable staff.

Although some people could not be convinced to enter, the Promos still used every opportunity to promote the festival and would give everyone they approached a run-down of what was on and their personal must-sees.

THE RESULT

  • 452 interactions.
  • 179 sign-ups.
  • One lucky competition winner.
