Rocket to The Moon – National Theatre
The opening weekend of the Festival of Britain provided the perfect backdrop to promote Rocket to the Moon to the hundreds of Londoners and domestic visitors strolling along the Queen’s Walk, and a smile, a bubbly greeting and a couple of dramatic costumes was all it took to distribute the leaflets and engage with the public effectively.
The glorious sunny weather also contributed to a very positive response from the audience, who were always happy to take a leaflet, talk about the production and often ask to pose for a picture, intrigued by the period costumes and elegant attire of Gemma and Gabrielle.
Over 5,000 postcards were handed out throughout the day; Everyone knew about the National Theatre and lots of people we spoke to were avid theatre-goers and very responsive, friendly and chatty as they were genuinely interested in what we were promoting.
‘It was a very nice, busy afternoon. After getting changed in the theatre, we stood just outside, on the main stretch of the South Bank. Flyers were going out very quickly, not much persuasion needed. Many people were interested in the show, so I gave them as much info as I could.’ Gemma, Street Team Officer undertaking both shifts
