Wicked – The Musical
For over a decade, Impact has enjoyed a fruitful collaboration with leading arts and entertainment agency Dewynters. Together, we’ve worked on a plethora of exciting campaigns, including all the major West End musicals: Chicago, Mamma Mia and Lion King, to name but a few. Probably the biggest success to emerge from Theatreland in recent years has been WICKED!
Since the show transferred from Broadway in September 2006, we’ve continued to deliver year-round marketing activities with mass appeal, employing a variety of distribution and word-of-mouth services from our portfolio:
- Leaflet placement across thousands of display points in London and the South East. Runs include, West End 1, West End 2, Tourist, Hotel, Full Suburban Life, Liberal Opinions, Family & Many Community runs targeting specific affluent family neighbourhoods.
- Impact’s exclusive ‘InfoBag’ promotion: 3,000 packs of arts-related literature distributed to key audience groups (families, tourists, students and culture vultures) at high-profile events, including… Chelsea Flower Show, Proms in the Park, Fresher’s Fair, Wimbledon Tennis, Lord Mayor’s Show, Family Festive November & December & Winter Kids.
- The widespread distribution of over 50,000 A2 Posters in affluent catchment areas in central and Greater London, including Hampstead & Highgate, Chelsea & Fulham, and Covent Garden & Piccadilly.
- Impact’s Brand Ambassadors working on the award-winning InfoBikes, promoting the show to the over 20m yearly visitors to London’s South Bank, Bankside and London Bridge riverfront areas.
- As well as promoting the show itself, Impact is also proud to distribute print publicity for an annual family event called WICKED Day, which helps to raise funds for environmental causes in and around the local community.
Last Christmas (w/c 27 December) WICKED set box-office history, when it reported gross sales of over £1m in a single week, the highest in London theatre history! With the Apollo Victoria Theatre currently booking until October 2012, WICKED’S universal charm shows no sign of waning.
